Good sources. Clear provenance.
One place to look, with a trail back to the people who made it possible.
FirstPatch combines public project catalogues, bounded directory snapshots, and open issues from GitHub’s official API. We credit a directory only when the project was found in its imported list.
What “checked” means
Issue status, labels and assignees were read from GitHub at the timestamp shown. This is a periodically refreshed snapshot. An issue can be claimed, changed or closed afterward. GitHub and its maintainers remain the source of truth.
Coverage, without guesswork
Three published catalogues are imported in full. CodeTriage and GoodFirstIssue.org are bounded snapshots. FirstIssue.dev is an external discovery link because its personalized feed requires an account. First Timers Only is a guide; its label is searched independently on GitHub.
Our issue feed samples recent issues across supported languages and the first-timers-only label. It is not every issue in every listed project. We do not estimate task duration, difficulty or maintainer response time.

Attribution & reuse
The Up For Grabs catalogue is used under CC BY-SA 4.0. The combined project catalogue is shared under that license with upstream attribution retained. MIT notices for Good First Issue and First Contributions are included in Third-party notices. FirstPatch is independent of these projects.

If a source fails during a refresh, its previous successful catalogue is retained and marked accordingly. Source failures are recorded in the public refresh status.
