FirstPatch helps you find a useful first contribution without hopping between directories.

We bring together public project references and recently updated issues, then put the project context, contribution guide and discovery source beside the task. You can use the site without an account.

Built in the open

The application is open source and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Read the source code, report a problem or suggest a source. FirstPatch is independent of GitHub and every directory it credits.

Privacy

FirstPatch has no account system, advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Your theme preference is stored in your browser. Search and filter choices appear in the page URL so you can share them. Filtering happens in your browser; opening a shared URL sends its query string to the hosting provider as part of the request.

Fonts and interface assets are served with the site. The browser downloads the public data snapshot from the same host. Cloudflare processes normal hosting requests according to Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Following an external link takes you to a service with its own policies.

Data with a trail

The backend refresh process reads public repository metadata and open issues. It does not collect contributor profiles, personal contact details, private repositories or personalized feeds. Read the source coverage and attribution.

Accessibility

The core list is delivered as HTML. Details use native disclosure controls, filters have explicit labels, focus is visible, motion respects your system preference, and light and dark themes are available. If something blocks your use, tell us in the project tracker.
